But I’m already tired of the overarching idea in this series that humans just can’t seem to find anybody to talk to out there. Hutch is still Director, but the character we read most about is the misogynistic MacAllister, a rather caustic journalist. Finally McDevitt pulls out the odysxey on the dramatic tension, but odyseey occurs so late in the book that we barely have time to comprehend the new plot before it is resolved.
